Style, Fashion and Beauty for Sophisticated Moms

I feel like I have been on an endless journey looking for the perfect foundation.  I’m consistently asking my girlfriends about the products they use and love.

A few weeks ago I came across some great reviews for Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup.  So naturally I had to try it out.

I was very tempted to just order online, but I decided to play it safe by visiting my closest Ulta. Nothing is more disappointing than ordering the wrong shade!

The girl who helped me at Ulta did an excellent job of matching my skin tone to the foundation.  I was a little hesitant since she went with a shade darker than I normally would have, but she said if I wasn’t satisfied, I had the option of returning the product.

Here’s my thoughts after using the foundation for over a week:

What I like about Urban Decay’s Naked Skin:

  • The color matches perfectly to my skin tone.
  • It’s very easy to apply.
  • It feels lightweight.
  • Red spots get covered and it smooths out my skin tone.

What I don’t like about Urban Decay’s Naked Skin:

  • It makes my skin look greasy much faster than it normally would.
  • It doesn’t last all day.

Obviously, there are more things that I like about the product.  But, the things that I don’t like are pretty significant.  I need my makeup to last all day.  And I don’t want to look like a grease ball.

Unfortunately, this foundation is going to be returned.  And I will have to continue on my quest for the perfect coverage for my face.

That’s the tricky part about makeup.  Everyone has different skin.  And everyone’s skin has different needs.

I could see this foundation working perfectly on those with normal to dry skin.  Any one with normal to oily should move right along.

    Hi April,
That’s good to know…i also have oily skin so i don’t want to look like a grease ball. Have you tried mac face and body foundation? i love it, but it won’t last all day…i carry a cream foundation compact for touchups. Good Luck.

I haven’t tried that, but I’ll have to look into it! Thanks for the tip! Finding the perfect makeup is such a challenge.

I’ve been using Super Goop CC cream and love it. I should really do a review on that soon.
